Is my Mehran’s engine running rough due to a bad temperature sensor?

My Suzuki Mehran’s engine sometimes runs rough, especially when it’s cold. Someone told me that a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor might be sending the wrong signal to the ECU. Can this really affect engine performance?

Yes, a bad engine coolant temperature sensor can make your Mehran’s engine run rough, especially:

When the engine is cold

During warm-up

In cold weather

This sensor helps the ECU adjust the fuel mixture based on engine temperature. If it reads wrong like saying the engine is cold when it’s actually warm, it may send too much fuel, causing rough idling o r poor performance. Replacing the sensor can fix these symptoms.
