Is Poor Quality Coolant Causing Overheating Issues in My Hyundai Tucson?

I recently topped up the coolant with a local brand, and now my Tucson overheats more frequently. Can using low-quality o r incorrect coolant cause overheating problems? What coolant type is recommended for Hyundai Tucson in Pakistan?

Yes, using low-quality o r incorrect coolant can lead to overheating by:

Causing corrosion inside the radiator, water pump, and engine passages.

Losing anti-freeze and anti-boil properties, leading to inefficient heat transfer.

Forming deposits and sludge, blocking coolant flow.

Recommendations for Pakistan:

Use genuine Hyundai-approved coolant o r a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant with proper additives.

Avoid mixing water with coolant always use the recommended 50:50 coolant-to-water ratio with distilled water.

Replace coolant every 40,000–50,000 km o r every 2 years.

Regularly flush the cooling system to remove sludge and deposits.
