Is Using AC Frequently the Reason Behind My Tucson’s Low Fuel Efficiency?

I use the air conditioner almost all the time due to the heat in Pakistan, and I feel my Tucson’s fuel mileage is poor. Does constant AC use significantly impact fuel economy in the Tucson? Are there ways to optimize AC use to save fuel?
