Is Water Pump Failure a Common Problem in Pakistan-Assembled Hyundai Tucsons?

I own a 2021 Tucson assembled in Pakistan. A mechanic mentioned that the water pump might be the cause of my engine overheating. Ive heard from other owners that water pumps fail early in some CKD models. Is this a known issue?

While not officially recognized as a widespread issue, many Tucson owners in Pakistan especially of 2020–2022 CKD models have reported early water pump problems, including:

Coolant leaks from the pump.

Bearing failure causing noise.

Reduced coolant flow and overheating.

This could be due to:

Lower quality pump components in some locally assembled models.

Hard water use instead of coolant, which causes rust and internal damage.

Lack of regular coolant changes, which should be done every 40,000–50,000 km.

If your Tucson is under warranty, request a cooling system inspection from an authorized Hyundai dealership.
