Is wheel alignment and balancing necessary for a lightweight car like Suzuki Mehran?

Some local mechanics say wheel alignment and balancing isn’t a big deal for a small car like Mehran, but I feel vibration at high speed and uneven tyre wear. How important is wheel alignment and tyre balancing in such cases? How often should it be done, and what are the signs its needed?

Yes – absolutely necessary, even more so for lightweight cars like Mehran. Because Mehran has a small frame and basic suspension, misalignment o r unbalanced tyres can cause:

Vibrations at higher speeds

Uneven tyre wear especially on the edges

Poor handling and braking

Increased fuel consumption

Wheel Alignment ensures that the tyres are angled correctly with the road and steering system.
Wheel Balancing ensures the tyre weight is evenly distributed to avoid wobbling.

How often to get it done:

Every 10,000 km o r 6 months

Immediately after hitting a pothole o r curb

After new tyre installation

Get it done from a professional tyre shop with computerized alignment tools for best results.
