Mehran 94 Reducing Engine Oil
Dear All,
I just overhaul complete engine of my mehran 03 months later;
* Bore and Sleeves from a reputed workshop
* Japani Piston and Rings
* Complete Head valves, cam bush, valves seat etc
* even new clutch plates
* 800 Km running on Petrol
* No oil leakage at all
means complete from all respects.
Now i have driven my car around 9000 km
and em using Caltex Havoline (high grade) engine oil
i used to change oil after every 3000 km
after the completion of first 6000km at the time of 2nd oil change the oil level was OK
but now after completion of 9000 km at the time of 3rd oil change i observed that the oil level was reduced by 0.5 Ltr.
Experts tell me that what can be the reason of oil reducing???????
there was a slight difference in mode of driving that first 6000km was mostly driven localy on average speed, and last 3000km was mostly long run high speed on motorway.

havoline is a 10W30, it's probably having a hard time coping with the heat nowdays so is burning off a little oil at a time (flashing).
why are you using havoline? because it is the most expensive? ads on TV?
there are more suitable oils out there for your application in that price range.
