Power Window Moves Slowly o r Jerks — Common Causes in United Alpha

The front passenger window in my United Alpha moves very slowly and sometimes jerks while going up o r down. It gets worse during hot weather. Is this caused by a weak motor, worn-out regulator, o r something else? What maintenance can prevent this problem from worsening?

Slow o r jerky window movement is very common in the United Alpha and often caused by mechanical resistance o r weak motor performance.

Common causes

Dry o r worn window regulator tracks

Weak motor due to wear o r heat

Dirt o r debris in the window channel

Bent regulator arms o r worn gears

How to fix

Lubricate window tracks and regulator arms with silicone spray avoid oil-based lubricants.

Inspect the regulator gears and arms for wear o r damage.

Replace the motor if it’s weak o r overheating.

Clean the window channel of dirt and debris, which can increase resistance.

Regular lubrication prevents jerky o r slow window operation, especially in dusty Pakistani conditions.
