Premature Spark Plug Wear o r Damage

Premature Spark Plug Wear o r Damage

Some drivers in Pakistan report that even new spark plugs start misfiring o r fail prematurely. What do you think causes spark plug damage so soon after installation — is it poor torque during installation, using fake/low‑quality spark plugs, o r issues like oil leakage into the cylinder? Have you ever visually inspected removed plugs e.g. for melted electrodes, cracks o r oil fouling, and what did you find?

Premature wear o r failure can happen due to:

Poor installation: Over-tightening o r under-tightening can damage the threads o r electrodes.

Low-quality o r counterfeit plugs: Unfortunately, fake spark plugs are common in the Pakistani market.

Engine oil leaks into the combustion chamber: Leads to oil-fouled plugs and misfires.

Dirty air filter o r fuel issues: Causes incomplete combustion and accelerated plug wear.
Solution:

Inspect plugs visually every 10,000–15,000 km. Look for melted electrodes, cracks, o r heavy deposits.

Always use genuine o r high-quality plugs.

Address oil leaks, air filter, o r fuel issues promptly to avoid repeated plug damage.
