Suzuki Swift throttle response is poor – is the throttle position sensor TPS faulty?

My 2020 Swift feels sluggish when accelerating, especially in lower gears. A mechanic suggested the throttle position sensor might be malfunctioning. Could dust o r low-grade fuel in Pakistan be causing this issue? Has anyone else had to replace the TPS?

Poor throttle response and lag in acceleration can often be due to a failing TPS, especially if the car feels sluggish during takeoff.

Common Causes:
TPS malfunction o r delay – sends incorrect signal to ECU, causing hesitation.

Carbon o r dust build-up on throttle body – common in dusty cities like Karachi o r Faisalabad.

Poor quality fuel can leave residue affecting TPS and throttle operation.

Fixes:
Have a mechanic scan the TPS reading with a scanner inconsistent voltage is a red flag.

Clean the throttle body and TPS area.

If cleaning doesnt help, replace the TPS—it’s not expensive and can restore performance.
