What are the signs of worn rear brake pads in a Suzuki Swift?

Most people talk about front brake pads, but I’m not sure how to tell if the rear brake pads in my 2022 Swift are worn. The car feels fine, but is there a way to check before any damage is done to the rotors o r braking performance?

Rear brake pads wear more slowly than front ones, but they still need monitoring, especially in automatic Swift models o r cars with frequent city driving.

Signs of Rear Pad Wear:
Slight squealing o r scraping noise from the back.

Reduced handbrake holding power on inclines.

Rear wheels becoming hotter than normal after short drives.

Uneven braking o r rear-end instability under heavy braking.

What to Do:
Have the rear pads checked every 25,000–30,000 km, even if they seem okay.

If you’re unsure, ask for a visual thickness check—pads should be more than 3 mm thick.

Do not delay rear pad replacement, as worn pads can quickly damage the rotors.
