What causes fuel leakage under the rear side of my Suzuki Swift?

I’ve recently noticed fuel stains o r dripping under the rear of my Suzuki Swift, particularly after parking overnight. Could this be due to a cracked fuel tank, loose fuel line, o r something else? How serious is this, and what should I check first?

Fuel leaks near the rear of the car usually point to issues in the fuel tank area, filler neck, o r rear fuel lines. This is especially common in older Suzuki Swift models in Pakistan o r those exposed to road debris and poor-quality roads.

Possible Causes:

Cracked o r corroded fuel tank especially near welds.

Loose o r cracked fuel lines o r joints connecting the tank to the engine.

Damaged fuel pump gasket o r sealing ring.

Poor tank repair after an accident o r modification.

Fixes:

Have a mechanic inspect the underside of the vehicle for visible leaks o r wet spots.

Replace cracked fuel hoses o r tank, if required.

Use OEM-quality gaskets and parts if replacing the fuel pump o r seals.

Avoid driving with a known leak—it’s a serious fire hazard.
