What causes my Suzuki Swift to have delayed o r harsh shifting in automatic transmission?

I’ve noticed that my Suzuki Swift with automatic transmission is experiencing delayed o r harsh shifting, especially when moving from a stop o r during acceleration. The shifts feel rough and uncomfortably delayed. Could this be due to a transmission failure, and what parts o r components should I check?
