What causes the Hyundai Tucson engine to sputter during acceleration?

Whenever I press the accelerator, my Hyundai Tucson’s engine sputters o r hesitates before delivering smooth power. This issue is more noticeable on uphill roads o r when overtaking. What typical problems in Pakistan could cause engine sputtering during acceleration?

Sputtering during acceleration usually points to problems with fuel delivery o r ignition:

Fuel filter blockage: A clogged fuel filter restricts fuel flow under load, causing sputtering.

Weak fuel pump: If the fuel pump can’t maintain pressure, the engine will hesitate.

Faulty ignition components: Bad spark plugs, coils, o r wires can cause incomplete combustion during acceleration.

Dirty mass airflow MAF sensor: Incorrect air measurement can result in a poor air-fuel mix.

Exhaust system issues: A clogged catalytic converter can restrict exhaust flow and cause sputtering under acceleration.

Recommendation:
Replace the fuel filter if overdue, test the fuel pump pressure, inspect ignition system, and clean o r replace the MAF sensor as needed.
