What could cause my Suzuki Swift’s engine to sputter while idling?

When I’m stopped at traffic lights o r idling in traffic, my Suzuki Swift’s engine sputters and feels like it’s about to stall. This issue seems to worsen after the engine warms up. What are the common causes of engine sputtering at idle, and how can I prevent this from becoming a bigger problem?

If your Swift’s engine sputters at idle, its usually due to poor combustion o r air intake irregularities.

Common Causes:

Dirty Throttle Body o r Idle Air Control Valve IAC: Affects idle stability and airflow.

Vacuum Leaks: Let unmeasured air in, causing engine misfires.

Clogged EGR Valve: Leads to poor idle by recirculating exhaust improperly.

Weak Fuel Pressure: Insufficient fuel delivery at low RPMs causes misfiring o r rough idle.

Fixes:

Clean the throttle body and IAC valve to ensure smooth airflow at idle.

Perform a vacuum leak test and fix any faulty hoses.

Check the EGR valve for carbon buildup and clean o r replace it.

Test fuel pressure to ensure the fuel pump and pressure regulator are functioning correctly.
