I’ve replaced the thermostat and radiator cap on my 2010 Suzuki Swift, but the engine still overheats, especially in hot weather. What other parts should I inspect—like the water pump, radiator, o r head gasket?

Water pump – If the impeller is worn out o r slipping, coolant won’t circulate properly.
Radiator – Internally clogged o r externally dirty radiators reduce heat dissipation.
Coolant hoses – Collapsed o r kinked hoses restrict flow.
Head gasket – If blown, it can let combustion gases into the cooling system, causing overheating.
Radiator fan system – As mentioned earlier, check the fan motor, relay, and thermal switch.
Heater core – Can sometimes block coolant circulation.
Airlocks in the cooling system – Trapped air prevents proper coolant flow. A full bleed is needed.
A cooling system pressure test, coolant flow check, and combustion leak test can help pinpoint the issue. It’s best to avoid continued driving while overheating, as it can warp the cylinder head o r damage the engine.
