What problems can a clogged transmission filter cause in an automatic Suzuki Swift?

I drive a 2012 automatic Swift, and lately it’s been shifting roughly o r hesitating between gears. A workshop suggested checking the transmission filter. Can a clogged transmission filter really affect gear shifts, and is it common with older Swifts in Pakistan?

A clogged transmission filter can cause serious problems in automatic Swift models, especially 2010–2015 CVT variants. Over time, debris and clutch material build up in the transmission fluid and clog the filter.

Symptoms include:

Rough o r delayed gear shifts

Slipping gears

Shuddering during acceleration

Transmission overheating

Transmission issues are common in older Swifts in Pakistan when fluid changes are skipped o r CVT oil isn’t used properly. Always use Suzuki-recommended CVT fluid and replace the transmission filter every 40,000–60,000 km, o r during major servicing.
