Why am I getting a check engine light with an EVAP system error in my Suzuki Swift?

The check engine light came on in my 2012 Swift, and the scan tool showed a code related to the EVAP system. Could a clogged o r malfunctioning purge valve be causing this, and how do I fix it?

A check engine light CEL with codes like P0441, P0443, o r P0446 often indicates a fault in the purge valve o r EVAP system.

Common purge valve-related causes:

Valve stuck open o r closed

Electrical failure in the solenoid

Blocked vacuum lines o r fuel vapor hoses

In Pakistan, dirty fuel, moisture, o r fuel overfilling are common causes of such failures. If the CEL is on, a mechanic can:

Test valve operation with a scan tool by activating it manually

Check voltage at the valve connector

Use a multimeter to check resistance

Cleaning may work, but in most cases, replacement is the long-term fix.
