Why do Hyundai Tucson side mirrors seem fragile o r easily broken?

Several owners in Pakistan report that the side mirrors of the Tucson are easily damaged o r knocked loose, especially in tight urban traffic. Is this due to a design weakness o r poor build quality? Are there affordable replacements o r reinforcements available locally?

The Tucson’s side mirrors, though sleek in design, are not very sturdy and often get damaged in Pakistan’s narrow streets o r tight parking spaces. They are electronically retractable, but the motor and joints are sensitive and break easily if force is applied. Some owners report that even a slight tap from a motorcycle o r passerby can cause dislodging o r cracking.

Aftermarket mirror protectors o r metal mirror guards are available and used by many owners in Pakistan. Hyundai does not usually cover this under warranty unless theres a factory defect.
