Why Do My Hyundai Tucson’s Power Windows Make a Clicking o r Grinding Noise When Operating?

When I roll my Tucson’s windows up o r down, I hear clicking o r grinding sounds. Is this a sign of a failing motor, worn-out regulator, o r something stuck in the window track? How urgent is this repair?

Clicking o r grinding noises during window operation often signal:

Worn-out o r misaligned window regulator gears.

Broken cable wires inside the regulator.

Debris lodged in the window track.

A motor struggling to move the glass smoothly.

What to do:

Avoid using the window repeatedly — it can break completely.

Visit a mechanic to inspect the window regulator assembly.

If its the regulator, it may need to be re-greased o r replaced.

For minor debris, the channels can be cleaned and lubricated.

Timely attention prevents complete failure, which can result in the window getting stuck open — a big issue during rain o r dust storms in Pakistan.
