Why Do My Wipers Make Noise and Leave Streaks on My Hyundai Tucson?

The wipers on my Hyundai Tucson not only leave streaks but also make a loud squeaking noise. This happens especially when the windshield is slightly dusty o r during drizzling rain. Is this a wiper alignment problem o r do I need to replace them? Any recommendations for better wipers in Pakistan?

Squeaking o r chattering wipers that also leave streaks are usually a sign of:

Hardened o r cracked rubber on the wiper blade.

Dust buildup on the windshield acting like sandpaper.

Incorrect blade angle o r tension, especially if the arm has been bent slightly during cleaning.

This is common in Pakistani summers where extreme heat dries out the rubber faster. It’s best to:

Replace the blades every 6–8 months, especially before monsoon season.

Clean both the blades and windshield weekly with a microfiber cloth and glass cleaner.

Avoid running the wipers on a dry o r dusty windshield, which wears them out quicker.

If the noise persists, have a technician check the wiper arm alignment.
