Why does my Hyundai Tucson engine sputter at idle?

My Hyundai Tucson engine sometimes sputters o r shakes when it is idling, especially when the car is stationary o r stopped at traffic signals. What are the common causes of engine sputtering at idle in Tucson models used in Pakistan’s driving conditions?

Engine sputtering at idle can be caused by several factors:

Dirty o r faulty idle air control valve IACV: This valve controls engine idle speed and can get clogged by carbon deposits, leading to unstable idle.

Vacuum leaks: Cracked o r disconnected vacuum hoses can cause unmetered air to enter the engine, disrupting the air-fuel mixture.

Faulty spark plugs o r ignition coils: Worn o r fouled spark plugs and weak ignition coils can cause misfires, especially at low RPMs.

Fuel injector issues: Clogged o r leaking injectors can result in uneven fuel delivery at idle.

Dirty throttle body: Build-up of dirt can restrict airflow and cause rough idle.

Recommendation:
Have a mechanic inspect and clean the idle air control valve, check vacuum lines, replace spark plugs if needed, and clean the throttle body.
