Why Does My Hyundai Tucson’s Battery Die Overnight Even After a Recent Replacement?

I recently replaced the battery in my Hyundai Tucson, but it keeps dying overnight. The car won’t start in the morning unless I jump-start it. There are no obvious electrical problems o r warning lights. Could there be a parasitic drain o r hidden electrical fault?

If your Tucson’s battery dies overnight despite being new, it likely points to a parasitic drain—when something continues to draw power even after the car is turned off. Common causes include:

Interior lights o r trunk light staying on.

Faulty infotainment o r smart key system remaining active.

Aftermarket accessories dash cams, trackers not wired correctly.

Faulty relay o r control module failing to shut down.

To confirm:

Ask an electrician for a parasitic draw test using a multimeter.

Disconnect accessories and check if the battery holds charge overnight.

Consider having the Body Control Module BCM scanned for errors at a Hyundai service center.

This issue is more common in cars with many electronic features and smart systems like the Tucson.
