Why Does My Hyundai Tucson’s Paint Get Scratches So Easily

I’ve noticed that the paint on my Tucson scratches very easily, even with light contact. I park carefully and clean with microfiber cloths, but swirl marks and fine scratches still appear. Is Hyundai using low-quality paint in Pakistan-assembled Tucsons, o r is this normal for modern cars?

Many Tucson owners in Pakistan report that the paint seems soft and easily scratched, even from regular cleaning. Possible reasons include:

Soft clear coat used on locally assembled vehicles.

Use of low-grade paint due to cost-cutting in CKD Completely Knocked Down assembly.

Improper washing methods—avoid rough cloths, automatic car washes, o r dirty microfiber.

To protect your paint:

Use high-quality microfiber cloths.

Wash using the two-bucket method.

Apply a ceramic coat o r paint protection film PPF if possible.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to completely eliminate this unless better paint materials are used during manufacturing, which is outside of customer control.
