Why Does My Khyber’s Cabin Feel Too Hot Even With AC On?

Older cars like the Khyber lack proper heat shielding and roof insulation. Sunlight heats up the metal roof and dashboard quickly, and poor door rubber seals let hot air in. Combine that with an old AC system and you get a hot, uncomfortable cabin—especially during summer afternoons.

If your Khyber feels like an oven even with the AC running, here’s why:

Metal roof heats up fast under sunlight due to lack of insulation.

Poor door and window seals allow hot air to leak inside.

The engine bay is very close to the cabin, especially near the dashboard.

AC system might not be powerful enough to cool the hot cabin quickly.

Fixes:

Apply roof insulation sheets available locally at car accessory shops.

Replace door rubbers and seal gaps properly.

Use heat-reflective tints o r sunshades.

Try parking under shade o r using a windshield cover when parked.
