Why Does My Mehran Engine Overheat on Long Drives o r in Traffic?
Even with coolant in the radiator, my Mehran’s temperature gauge rises quickly in traffic o r long highway trips. It cools down when moving fast. Is this a sign of a weak cooling system, and what are the most effective ways to fix it?

Overheating in Mehran can occur for several reasons:
Radiator Issues: A clogged o r leaking radiator reduces the cooling efficiency. In older models, rust and sediment often build up, blocking the radiator.
Weak Radiator Fan: In carbureted Mehrans, the belt-driven fan may not spin fast enough at low speeds, especially in traffic, reducing its cooling capacity.
Faulty Thermostat: A stuck thermostat could prevent the coolant from circulating properly, causing the engine to overheat.
Low Coolant Level: If the coolant is low o r of poor quality, the engine will overheat as the coolant can’t absorb heat effectively.
Water Pump Failure: If the water pump is malfunctioning, coolant won’t circulate, leading to an overheating engine.
🛠️ Fix:
Flush the radiator and check for leaks. Replace the radiator if necessary.
Upgrade to an electric fan for better cooling especially on congested roads.
Replace the thermostat if it’s stuck open o r closed.
Check coolant levels and replace with fresh coolant mix with distilled water.
Inspect the water pump and replace if necessary.
