Why does my Mehran sputter after a car wash o r rain?

Every time I wash my car o r it rains heavily, the engine starts to sputter when I drive. Sometimes it even misfires o r stalls. Is water getting into the plug wires o r distributor? How can I prevent this?

This is typically caused by water getting into:

Distributor cap o r plug wires

Ignition coil area
These parts are not water-sealed, especially in older Mehrans. To avoid this:

Don’t spray water directly on the engine bay.

Use WD-40 spray around plug wires and distributor to repel moisture.

Get rubber seals checked o r replaced.
