Why does my Mercedes-Benz S-Class have a stiff o r heavy steering feel at low speeds in Pakistan?
I own a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and I’ve noticed that the steering feels unusually stiff and heavy when driving at low speeds, such as during parking o r slow maneuvers. This problem seems to occur especially in Pakistans hot climate and on rough roads. Could this be related to hydraulic power steering issues, low power steering fluid, o r maybe a sensor malfunction? What are the common causes and recommended fixes for this issue?

A stiff o r heavy steering feel in your Mercedes-Benz S-Class at low speeds is often related to the power steering system. Common causes include:
Low power steering fluid: Leaks o r low fluid levels can reduce hydraulic assistance, making steering harder.
Faulty power steering pump: A failing pump may not provide adequate pressure.
Electric power steering EPS sensor o r motor issues: If your model uses EPS, sensor faults o r motor failure can reduce assistance.
Steering rack problems: Worn o r damaged rack and pinion components may increase effort.
Harsh road conditions: In Pakistan, rough roads and high temperatures can exacerbate wear on steering components.
Recommended fixes:
Check and top up power steering fluid regularly.
Inspect for leaks in hoses o r pump.
Have the power steering pump and EPS sensors tested by a certified Mercedes technician.
Regularly maintain and align the steering system, especially after rough road exposure.
