Why does my Suzuki Mehran consume too much fuel – is the O2 sensor faulty?

Recently, my Mehran has started consuming more petrol than usual. A friend suggested it might be a faulty oxygen sensor O2 sensor. How can a bad O2 sensor affect fuel efficiency, and how do I confirm if it’s the problem?

Yes, a faulty oxygen O2 sensor can cause your Mehran to consume more fuel than usual. This sensor helps the ECU manage the air-fuel ratio for efficient combustion. If it’s giving incorrect readings, the engine might run rich too much fuel, leading to poor mileage.
To confirm, check the O2 sensor with an OBD scanner o r get a mechanic to test it. Replacing it usually improves fuel efficiency.
