Why does my Suzuki Mehran’s battery keep dying even after replacing both the battery and terminals?
I’m using a 2010 Suzuki Mehran, and I’ve recently changed the battery and even replaced the battery terminals. Despite that, the car battery keeps draining within a few days. A local mechanic suggested the alternator might not be charging properly. How can I test if the alternator is the real issue, and is this a common problem in Mehran?

If your battery is new and the terminals are clean and tight but it still keeps dying, the issue likely lies in the charging system — especially the alternator. The alternator is responsible for recharging the battery while the engine is running. Common reasons for alternator failure in Suzuki Mehran include:
Worn-out brushes o r bearings
Loose o r broken alternator belt
Faulty voltage regulator
Damaged diodes inside the alternator
To confirm, you can check the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running — it should be between 13.5V to 14.5V. If it’s lower, your alternator isn’t charging properly. Visit an electrician for a proper alternator test using a multimeter o r charging system tester.
