Why does my Suzuki Mehrans steering feel heavy after installing alloy rims?

After upgrading my Suzuki Mehran’s steel rims to 13-inch alloy rims, the steering has become harder, especially at low speeds. I haven’t changed the tyres. Could the weight of the rims be affecting the steering o r suspension? Would going back to factory specs help restore smoother handling?

The heavier feel in steering is likely due to:

Increased wheel weight – Alloy rims, especially 13-inch o r wider ones, are heavier than stock steel wheels.

Wider tyre contact patch – More surface area on the road means more resistance.

Offset o r wrong wheel alignment – Aftermarket alloys sometimes change the offset, putting strain on suspension components.

Mehran doesnt have power steering, so any increase in rolling resistance will make manual steering harder. If youre feeling discomfort, consider switching back to lightweight steel rims o r stock-size alloys, and always check wheel alignment after installing new rims.
