Why does my Suzuki Swift get dented so easily in tight traffic?

In crowded city areas like Lahore and Karachi, my Suzuki Swift often ends up with small dents and dings from bikes, rickshaws, and other vehicles. It seems like the body panels are too soft o r thin. Is this a design flaw o r a material issue with Suzuki Swift models made for the Pakistani market?

The Suzuki Swift, particularly the locally assembled models in Pakistan, uses thin metal body panels to keep weight and production costs down. While this helps with fuel efficiency, it makes the car more vulnerable to dents, especially in tight urban traffic where rickshaws, bikes, and other vehicles often brush against it.

Reasons:

Lightweight sheet metal in the body panels.

No body cladding o r reinforcement on doors and fenders.

High exposure to tight, high-traffic situations in Pakistani cities.

Solutions:

Install door protectors o r side mouldings to absorb small impacts.

Use parking sensors o r cameras to minimize close-quarter collisions.

When possible, park in safer, wider spaces, even if it means walking a bit more.
