Why does my Suzuki Swift have transmission fluid leaking from the shift lever o r cable?
There’s a small amount of transmission fluid leaking near the shift lever in my Suzuki Swift. Could this be caused by a damaged shift lever seal o r a faulty cable connection? What are the potential causes of this issue, and how can I prevent further fluid loss?

If you notice transmission fluid leaking around the shift lever o r the shift cable, this could be related to a damaged seal o r worn-out components in the transmission linkage.
Common Causes:
Damaged Shift Lever Seal: The shift lever, which is part of the transmission’s manual o r automatic control system, has seals around it that prevent fluid leakage. If these seals are damaged, fluid may leak out.
Worn Shift Cable: A worn o r improperly adjusted shift cable can cause misalignment of the shift mechanism, potentially leading to fluid leaks.
Loose o r Faulty Connections: The connection points around the shift lever mechanism might become loose, allowing fluid to leak.
Fixes:
Inspect the shift lever seal for cracks, wear, o r improper fit. Replace the seal if it’s damaged.
Check the shift cable for signs of wear o r damage. Replace the cable if needed.
Ensure all connections around the shift mechanism are tightened properly to prevent leaks.
Clean up the area around the shift lever to check if the leak persists. Sometimes a small amount of fluid leakage can be stopped with minor adjustments.
If the leak continues, have a professional inspect the shift linkage system to ensure proper alignment and sealing.
