Why does the door lock make a clicking noise but not lock in my Suzuki Swift?

Why does the door lock make a clicking noise but not lock in my Suzuki Swift?

My 2020 Swift’s front driver-side door makes a clicking sound when I press the lock button, but it doesn’t actually lock. I have to push it manually. Is this a partial actuator failure, o r could the locking rod be misaligned o r disconnected?

The clicking sound indicates the actuator is receiving power but not completing the locking movement.

Likely Causes:
Partially failed actuator motor – can move slightly click but not fully engage.

Locking rod o r linkage disconnected – the actuator might be moving, but the mechanism is not connected properly.

Obstruction o r stiffness in the lock mechanism due to dust o r corrosion.

Solutions:
Open the door panel and inspect the actuator and connecting rods.

Clean and lubricate the locking mechanism to ensure smooth movement.

Replace the actuator unit if its weak o r partially working.
