Why Has My Mehran’s Fuel Average ped So Much Recently?
I used to get good mileage from my Mehran around 16–17 km/l, but now its giving only 10–12 km/l in the city. I haven’t changed my driving habits. What could be affecting the fuel efficiency — and how can I fix it?

If your Mehrans fuel efficiency has ped drastically, here are the most common causes:
Faulty Carburetor Tuning: Over time, the carburetor settings may get out of tune, causing a rich air-fuel mixture that leads to high fuel consumption.
Worn Spark Plugs: Worn spark plugs fail to ignite the fuel properly, causing incomplete combustion and wasting fuel.
Clogged Fuel Injectors: If the injectors are dirty o r clogged, they can cause poor fuel atomization, resulting in higher fuel consumption.
Low Tire Pressure: Under-inflated tires cause more drag, increasing fuel consumption.
Driving Habits: Aggressive driving, excessive idling, o r carrying extra weight can all reduce fuel economy.
Air Filter: A clogged air filter reduces engine efficiency, leading to more fuel usage.
🛠️ Fix:
Get the carburetor tuned and adjusted by a mechanic.
Replace the spark plugs with quality ones like NGK o r Denso.
Clean o r replace fuel injectors.
Ensure tire pressure is properly maintained refer to the manufacturers recommended PSI.
Replace o r clean the air filter every 10,000–12,000 km.
Drive smoothly and avoid excessive idling o r aggressive acceleration.
