Why Is My Hyundai Tucson Overheating Despite a Full Coolant Level?

My Tucson’s temperature gauge rises, especially in traffic, even though the coolant level is full and there are no leaks. Could this be a sign of a faulty water pump? What are the common symptoms of pump failure in locally assembled Tucson models?

If your Tucson is overheating even though the coolant level is full, it likely means the coolant isn’t circulating properly. A faulty water pump is a common reason. Possible symptoms:

Coolant stays in the reservoir o r radiator and doesn’t circulate through the engine.

The temperature rises during slow driving o r in traffic but may cool down while cruising.

You may hear gurgling o r notice coolant bubbling in the reservoir.

In Pakistan, overheating is more frequent due to:

Extreme heat especially in cities like Lahore and Karachi.

Dust and mineral buildup inside the radiator o r water pump impeller.

Have a mechanic perform:

A coolant flow check.

An inspection of the water pump impeller and pulley.

A radiator flush, if needed, to remove deposits
