Why Is My Hyundai Tucson’s Engine Making a Humming Noise and Feeling Sluggish?

My Tucson has recently started making a low humming o r restricted noise when accelerating, and it feels less responsive. Could this be due to a clogged air intake filter o r even a dirty throttle body caused by a restricted air filter?

A humming noise and loss of power often point to a restricted air intake, caused by:

A heavily clogged air filter.

A dirty mass airflow MAF sensor o r throttle body due to restricted airflow.

This can result in:

Reduced engine power.

Increased fuel consumption.

Engine running rough o r unevenly at different RPMs.

Recommended solution:

Check and replace the air filter if dirty.

Ask a technician to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body using approved cleaners.

Ensure that no rodents o r debris are blocking the intake hose common in parked cars in rural areas.
