Why Is My Hyundai Tucson’s Oxygen O2 Sensor Triggering the Check Engine Light Frequently?

My Tucson’s check engine light keeps coming on, and the mechanic says it’s due to the oxygen sensor. Could poor fuel quality o r dusty conditions in Pakistan cause the O2 sensor to fail? How do I know when it needs replacement?

The oxygen O2 sensor monitors exhaust gases to optimize fuel-air mixture. In Pakistan, factors like poor fuel quality, dusty environments, and infrequent maintenance can cause the O2 sensor to fail prematurely. Contaminants in fuel o r exhaust deposits can coat the sensor, causing inaccurate readings and triggering the check engine light.

Signs of a bad O2 sensor:

Decreased fuel efficiency.

Rough engine idle.

Increased emissions.

What to do:

Have the sensor scanned for trouble codes P0130-P0167 range.

Replace the sensor with a genuine Hyundai o r high-quality aftermarket part.

Use good-quality fuel and perform regular maintenance to extend sensor life.
