Why is my Suzuki Swift losing power and giving low fuel average? Could the catalytic converter be clogged?

My 2015 Swift feels sluggish, especially during acceleration, and the fuel average has ped noticeably. A friend suggested the catalytic converter might be choked. How common is this in Pakistan, and what are the symptoms of a clogged catalytic converter?

Yes, a clogged catalytic converter can cause your Swift to lose power and deliver poor fuel average. This is especially common in Pakistan due to:

Poor fuel quality with high sulfur o r additives

Lack of regular engine tune-ups

Prolonged driving with a rich air-fuel mixture

Symptoms of a clogged catalytic converter:

Sluggish acceleration, especially uphill

Reduced fuel efficiency

Engine hesitation o r jerking

Rotten egg sulfur smell from the exhaust

Exhaust pipe gets unusually hot

To diagnose, a workshop can do a back pressure test o r scan the ECU for trouble codes like P0420. In many cases, the converter is partially blocked, and cleaning may help.
