Why is my Suzuki Swifts battery draining even after replacing it recently?

I have a 2015 Suzuki Swift in Pakistan, and I recently installed a new battery, but its still draining quickly. Could this be an alternator issue? How do I check if the alternator is failing?

If your battery is still draining after being replaced, it’s very likely that the alternator is not properly charging it. The alternators job is to recharge the battery while the engine runs. A failing alternator may not generate enough voltage typically 13.5–14.5V to keep the battery charged. Other causes include:

Loose o r corroded battery terminals

Faulty alternator diodes can cause parasitic drain

Worn alternator belt slipping o r broken belt won’t drive the alternator

Electrical short elsewhere in the system

You can have a mechanic o r an auto electrician check the alternator output with a multimeter. If its below 13V with the engine running, the alternator likely needs repair o r replacement.
