Why is my Suzuki Swift’s radiator leaking from the top o r sides?

My 2014 Swift has started leaking coolant from the top corner of the radiator. There are small traces of dried coolant near the plastic tank area. Is this due to heat damage, and is radiator replacement necessary o r can it be repaired?

Radiator leakage from the top o r side edges is a very common issue, especially in Pakistan’s hot climates. Most Suzuki Swift models come with a plastic-and-aluminum radiator, where the top plastic tank is crimped to the aluminum core.

Causes:

Heat cycling weakens the plastic tank, causing cracks.

Poor-quality coolant o r tap water accelerates corrosion at the seals.

Age-related fatigue usually occurs after 5–7 years of use.

Solution:

If the crack is small, epoxy o r radiator sealant might work temporarily.

For permanent repair, replacing the radiator is best. Avoid Chinese replicas—use Japanese o r Thai-made radiators if possible.
