Why is my Suzuki Swift’s steering hard to turn, especially at low speeds?

My 2013 Swift’s steering has become stiff, particularly when turning at low speeds o r while parking. I’ve checked the tire pressure and it’s fine. Could it be related to the power steering system o r something else?

If your Swift’s steering feels stiff o r hard at low speeds, the issue is likely related to the power steering system. In Pakistan, Swift models commonly use Electric Power Steering EPS 2010 onward, although older models may have hydraulic systems.

Possible causes include:

Low o r leaking power steering fluid for hydraulic models

Weak o r failing EPS motor

Faulty EPS control module

Dry o r worn steering column joints o r U-joints

Under-inflated o r mismatched tires

In EPS-equipped Swifts, stiffness may also be due to battery o r alternator issues, since the system relies on electrical power. A proper diagnostic scan can reveal EPS motor o r sensor errors.
