Why Is My Tucson’s AC Blowing Hot Air After I Start the Engine?

When I start my Hyundai Tucson, the AC initially blows hot o r warm air for the first few minutes, even though the AC is set to cold. After some time, it becomes cooler. Is this due to a sensor delay, gas pressure issue, o r something else?

It’s normal for the AC to blow warm air briefly on start-up, but if it continues for several minutes, it may indicate:

Delayed compressor activation, often due to electrical relay o r clutch delay.

Low refrigerant, which takes time to build pressure.

Faulty temperature sensor o r actuator, preventing cold air delivery immediately.

An AC system that was turned off completely before the last shutdown, causing delay in restarting the cycle.

You should:

Turn on AC a few seconds after starting the engine.

Use recirculation mode immediately to speed up cooling.

If the problem persists daily, have the AC relay, compressor clutch, and control module checked.
