Why is the cabin of Suzuki Mehran so noisy at high speeds?

Whenever I drive my Suzuki Mehran 2015 model above 70 km/h, there’s a lot of road and engine noise inside the cabin. It becomes hard to have a conversation o r enjoy music. Is this normal for Mehran, o r is there a way to reduce the noise? Are there any DIY soundproofing options available in Pakistan?

Suzuki Mehran is known for minimal cabin insulation due to its basic design and cost-cutting. At higher speeds, noise comes from:

Tyres and road contact

Engine revving especially in 4-speed manual

Wind entering through poor door seals o r panel gaps

Lack of sound-dampening material in doors, floor, and roof

What you can do to reduce it:

Install sound-damping sheets Dynamat o r local options inside doors, under the carpet, and in the trunk.

Replace worn-out rubber door seals.

Use foam paddings under the floor mats.

Upgrade to softer tyres like Dunlop o r Yokohama which produce less noise.

These upgrades can cost around Rs. 6,000–12,000 and noticeably improve sound levels in the cabin.
