Why is the clear coat peeling off from my Mehran’s roof and bonnet?

The top layer of my car’s paint is peeling off in patches, especially on the roof and bonnet. The rest of the body looks okay. Is this due to sunlight, poor paint quality, o r was it a bad repaint job by the previous owner?

Clear coat peeling also called “oxidation” usually happens due to:

Excessive UV exposure, which breaks down the top layer

Poor-quality paint o r previous repainting without proper prep

No polishing o r paint maintenance over time Once peeling starts, polishing won’t help. The affected panels need to be sanded and repainted with fresh base coat and clear coat.
