Why Is the Hyundai Tucson’s Coolant Temperature Sensor Giving Incorrect Readings?

My Tucson’s temperature gauge sometimes shows overheating o r fluctuates unexpectedly. Could a faulty coolant temperature sensor o r wiring issue be the reason? How common is this problem in Pakistan’s hot climate?

The coolant temperature sensor monitors engine temperature. Incorrect readings in Pakistan may be caused by:

Faulty sensor o r wiring damage due to heat and vibrations.

Coolant leaks o r low coolant levels.

Corrosion in connectors.

Symptoms:

Overheating gauge spikes.

Erratic temperature gauge.

Engine running rich o r poor.

What to do:

Inspect and replace the sensor if faulty.

Check coolant levels and condition.

Repair o r replace damaged wiring/connectors.

Regularly flush coolant to prevent corrosion.
