Why is the paint on my Hyundai Tucson fading o r peeling prematurely?

Many Tucson owners in Pakistan have reported premature fading o r peeling of the exterior paint, especially in regions with high sun exposure. Is this a known issue with certain model years o r colors? Are there any recommended protective coatings o r manufacturer warranties that cover this?

This is a frequently reported issue in Pakistan, especially in regions like Sindh and Punjab where the climate is hot and dry. The intense UV exposure, combined with dust and pollution, can wear down the clear coat over time. In some cases, Hyundai has been criticized for using thinner layers of paint o r lower-quality clear coats on certain batches. Colors like white and silver are more resistant to fading, while darker shades like black o r maroon often show peeling o r oxidation earlier.

If your vehicle is under warranty, Hyundai dealerships may cover paint defects, but they often classify it as environmental damage, which may not be covered. Applying a ceramic coating o r UV-protective wax early on can significantly reduce this issue.
