Can a bad ignition coil cause my Suzuki Wagon R not to start?

If the ignition coil fails completely, the engine may fail to start. What are the diagnostic steps to confirm ignition coil failure in the Wagon R when the engine cranks but doesn’t fire?

Yes. If the ignition coil fails completely, the spark plugs wont receive voltage, and the engine wont ignite the fuel-air mixture, causing:

Engine cranks but won’t start: The starter motor turns the engine, but no combustion occurs.

No spark detected on plugs: Confirmed by a mechanic using a spark tester.

Diagnostic step: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for misfire codes o r coil-related errors. Physical testing of the coils resistance and output is also necessary.
