Why does the steering wheel of my Suzuki Every not return to center after a turn?

After making a turn, the steering wheel of my Suzuki Every doesn’t return smoothly to the center. I have to manually bring it back. Is this a steering rack issue o r a suspension alignment problem? How common is this in older Suzuki Every vans, and how can it be fixed?

When the steering doesn’t return to center, it usually points to an issue with alignment, steering geometry, o r binding in the column o r rack.

Most common causes:
Incorrect wheel alignment especially caster angle

Tight o r rusted steering joints

Faulty o r binding steering rack

Worn suspension bushings

What to do:

Get a full alignment check, focusing on caster angle

Inspect for binding in the steering column o r universal joints

Replace worn bushings and ensure the steering rack is properly mounted and greased
