Can I clean the catalytic converter of my Wagon R instead of replacing it?

My Suzuki Wagon R has lost power and a mechanic told me the catalytic converter is blocked. He suggested replacing it, which is quite expensive. Is it possible to clean it instead? Has anyone in Pakistan tried catalytic converter cleaning sprays o r services? Did it work? Please share your experience.
