Does the Suzuki Swift consume more fuel with AC on during summers in Pakistan?

With temperatures rising in cities like Lahore and Karachi, running the AC is a must. However, I’ve noticed a significant in fuel efficiency when the AC is on. Is this a common issue for Swift drivers in Pakistan, and is the 1.2L engine underpowered for managing AC load and city driving at the same time?

Yes, running the AC in high temperatures has a noticeable impact on the Swift’s fuel economy. The 1.2L engine used in the current Pakistani model is efficient, but not particularly powerful, so when the AC is on:

It places an extra load on the engine, leading to higher fuel consumption.

In stop-and-go traffic, the engine works harder to maintain performance while cooling the cabin.

In hot cities like Multan o r Karachi, AC usage is nearly constant for most of the year, leading to mileage s of 1.5 to 2 km/l o r more, especially in urban driving.
